Hello, and welcome. This is the first post on our new website, so it feels right to begin with who we are and what we hope for. Peach Pointe is a licensed adult family home in Centralia, WA. It is a real house with a porch, a garden, and room for up to 6 residents. Caregivers are here day and night. Think of this post as the conversation we would have on the porch if you stopped by.
Why a Small Home
We chose to be small on purpose. Larger buildings have their place, but they run on schedules. In a house with a handful of residents, the day can bend around the people in it. Breakfast waits for the late riser. A caregiver has time to sit and talk. We know how you take your coffee by the second morning, and which chair is yours by the third.
Small also means we notice things. A change in appetite, a new unsteadiness, a quieter mood than usual. In a small home those changes are seen the same day, and your family hears about them the same day.

About the Name
People ask about the name. The peach part is easy. The Yakima Valley is orchard country, and there is a peach tree in our backyard. In late summer it gives us fruit for the table and, most years, a cobbler. The “Pointe” takes a little more explaining. We wanted a word for a point of calm: a sunny spot where you can stop, sit down and catch your breath. That is what we hope this house is, for residents and for the families who love them. A bright home for the next chapter.
What a Day Looks Like
We plan for good days. That is not a slogan so much as a way of running the house. Mornings start slowly, with coffee on the porch when the weather allows. Breakfast is cooked here. After that, people do what they enjoy. Some read the paper. Some water the raised beds or snip herbs for lunch. Some put a record on. On warm days the back door stays open and the garden does the entertaining. Lunch and supper are served at one long table, and we cook with what is in season.
Afternoons are for naps, visitors, a walk in the garden, or a game of cards. The evening winds down early and quietly. Nobody is made to join in. A quiet hour in a favorite chair with the window open is a good day too.
What Families Can Expect From Us
We think of families as partners, and we try to act like it. That means an open door: visit when you like, and stay for lunch. It means honest answers: we tell you what we can do and what we cannot. It means a call or a text when something changes, not a note a week later. And it means a clear written care plan that you have read and agreed to.
Our caregivers are trained for this work, including Washington’s specialty training in dementia and mental health. Medications are managed under nurse delegation. We will explain what all of that means in plain words, and we will keep explaining until it makes sense.
Come and Visit
The best introduction is to see the place. Visits are by appointment, and you can book one online or by calling (360) 771-4442. You will walk through the house and garden, meet whoever is on shift, and sit down with a cup of coffee to talk about what you need. Bring your parent if they are up to it, and bring the questions you have been turning over at night. There is no pressure. Many families come twice before deciding, and that is fine with us.
Thank you for reading, and welcome to Peach Pointe. Come sit on the porch with us.
