Finding care for a parent is a big decision, and it usually arrives at a hard time. We keep the path short and clear. Here is what happens, in order. You can pause at any step.

1. The First Call

It starts with a phone call to (360) 771-4442, or a note through our contact page. Tell us about your parent: what they need help with, what they enjoy, what worries you. We will tell you honestly whether our home sounds like a fit. If it does, we will set a time to visit. The call costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

2. Come and See the House

Visits by appointment, Monday to Saturday. Walk through the bedrooms and the bathroom. Sit at the table. Step out to the garden. Meet whoever is on shift. Bring your parent if they are able and willing, so they can see the porch for themselves. Ask every question you have, including the awkward ones.

3. A Free Care Assessment

Before anyone moves in, Washington requires a written assessment of their needs. We sit down with you and your parent and talk through health, medications, daily routines, memory, mobility and mood. With your permission we also speak with their doctor or case manager. The assessment tells us whether we can care for your parent safely and well. If we cannot, we will say so and suggest other options.

4. A Written Care Plan and a Clear Rate

From the assessment we write a care plan together. It covers the help your parent needs each day, their medications, meals and routines. It also covers the things that make a day good for them. In Washington this is called a negotiated care plan, because you help shape it. At the same time we give you the monthly rate in writing, with a plain list of what it includes. No surprises later.

5. Move-In Day

We pick a date that suits your family. The room is ready when you arrive, with the bed made and a place for everything you bring. A quilt from home, framed photos, a favorite mug and a familiar chair all help. A caregiver stays close that first day, and we keep the schedule light.

6. The First Weeks, and After

The first few weeks are about settling in. We learn how your parent likes their coffee, when they tire and what makes them laugh. We check in with you often during this time. After that, you can expect regular updates and a call or text when anything changes. We review the care plan whenever needs shift. You are welcome to visit any day.
